Out of the board, only three ACs in this list shows self clean evaporator coil, including the Panasonic, Voltas, LG, Hitachi, Daikin and Blue Star.
The largest variation among the ACs is the availability or unavailability of AI-controlled intelligent cooling and its sophistication.
But none of the other AC in this list matched the features that the Panasonic had. The Panasonic was the nearest to a fully-connected smart AC, including Wi-Fi, voice control, True AI, Matter protocol, and a full app. All other ACs were less intelligent or not connected at all.
Noise Level Comparison
In order to determine the level of noise produced by an AC when it is operating, we measure the noise level of the indoor unit at different fan speeds (High Speed to eco or sleep mode) possible.
Noise figure given by manufacturer, but not at different fan speeds.
| AC Model | Indoor Noise (Low) | Indoor Noise (High) |
| LG US-Q14YNZE | 21 dB | 41 dB* |
| Daikin FTKM35U | 27 dB | 42 dB* |
| Panasonic NU12AKY5W | 32 dB | 44 dB |
| Hitachi RAS.G512PCBIBT | 32 dB | 44 dB* |
| Carrier CAI12EE5R35W0 | 32 dB | 40 dB |
| Blue Star ID512ZNURS | 34 dB | 46 dB* |
| Voltas 125V Vectra Elite | 38 dB | 46 dB* |
| Lloyd GLS12I5FWBEV | 32 dB | 46 dB* |
The difference is considerable across all the ACs at their respective rated indoor noise levels. LG was the least noisy with only 21 dB and it was almost inaudible when it was in operation. The loudest was the Blue Star and Voltas, 36 dB, which is audible but not too high to use during the day.
The Panasonic was the most open about its noise data, giving low (32 dB) and high (44 dB) speed values. The Carrier also reported several noise levels of fans between 32 and 40 dB.
In the case of outdoor noise, the LG (55 dB) and Panasonic (53 dB) only gave specific numbers. The Panasonic was the quietest outdoor unit of those that revealed the information.
Comparison of Warranty and After Sales.
The warranty is different with the brand and the level of protection of the components provided. Other brands such as Blue Star and Panasonic have a 5-year warranty on major components of the products. There are others such as Voltas who have a normal 1-year warranty of products including extended warranty on the compressors.
The warranty of each AC is presented in the table below. It is important to remember that the terms of warranty can be different depending on the date of purchase, the type of use, and the terms and conditions that are provided by the manufacturer.
| AC Model | Product Warranty | PCB Warranty | Compressor Warranty | Additional Coverage |
| LG US-Q14YNZE | 1 Year | 5 Years | 10 Years | Free gas charging during comprehensive period |
| Daikin FTKM35U | 1 Year | 5 Years | 10 Years | Standard coverage |
| Panasonic NU12AKY5W | 5 Years | Included in 5-Year | 10 Years | Covers PCB, coils, motors; gas charging for coil/compressor replacement till 5 years |
| Hitachi RAS.G512PCBIBT | 1 Year | 5 Years (Controller) | 10 Years | Standard coverage |
| Carrier CAI12EE5R35W0 | 1 Year | 5 Years | 10 Years | Standard coverage |
| Blue Star ID512ZNURS | 5 Years | Included in 5-Year | 10 Years | Covers PCB, IDU evaporator coil, ODU condenser coil |
| Voltas 125V Vectra Elite | 1 Year | 5 Year | 10 Years | Standard coverage |
| Lloyd GLS12I5FWBEV | 1 Year | 5 Years (Component) | 10 Years | Covers components including PCB |
ACs that come with a long warranty of their products such as the Panasonic and Blue Star have less to worry about when it comes to failure of major components within the first five years. Nevertheless, consumables such as filter, plastic components and remote handsets are generally omitted in all brands.
Conversely, the standard product warranty of 1 year is offered on all other ACs such as the LG, Daikin, Carrier, Hitachi, Voltas, and Lloyd with the additional warranty on the compressor and PCB. This would mean that the user will incur the cost of repairing non-compressor, non-PCB parts after the initial year.
The Panasonic has the best warranty package as it includes PCB, coils, and motors within 5 years of warranty, as well as gas charging in case of coil or compressor replacement. In its absence, users would have to charge their gas individually, which can be an additional cost in long-term maintenance.
