01. Blue Star 2 Ton 3 Star Inverter Split AC (IA322DXU)
Normally, we expect one air conditioner to cool the room as per the temperature what we are setting on remote. So whenever ambient condition is changing, user has to adjust the setting again and again by manually. But in Blue Star, this DigiQ Hepta Sensor is removing this headache, because it is having seven digital sensors which continuously sensing the room condition and adjusting the cooling automatically. But this thing not means you can fully forget the maintenance part, servicing is still required time to time.
One more plus point of Blue Star Smart Inverter is the AI Pro technology. It sensing the outside ambient temperature and also the inside room condition together. After that it intelligently optimising the cooling output and fan speed, so that maximum comfort is achieved. The indoor unit is also build quite solid, with dimension 111 x 33.5 x 21.5 cm, which is slightly more wider compared to the Samsung one.
The 5-in-1 convertible cooling feature is very useful for managing the electricity bill in different situations. You can run the AC on 40%, 60%, 80%, 100% or 110% capacity, depending upon the weather outside and how many people sitting in the room. Samsung is also giving 5-step convertible mode, but in Blue Star, the turbo mode at 110% capacity is giving that extra cooling kick which is really needed during peak summer afternoon time. And these convertible modes are accessible by just simple button press on the remote only.
This machine is having one specially designed acoustic jacket around the compressor, which is one unique offering and not available in other models we discussed here. This acoustic jacket is killing the noise and vibration coming from outdoor unit, so the AC operation become much more silent outside. But the indoor unit is running at 47 dB, which is highest among all models in this list. Samsung at 26 dB and Panasonic at 36 dB are much quieter from indoor side. So I am recommending this model for living room area where indoor noise is not so much issue, compared to bedroom where silent operation is more important.
Blue Star is giving a strong cooling capacity of 6400W at 100% load, which is second highest after Panasonic (6700W). The ISEER rating is 4.38 W/W and annual energy consumption is 1131.55 kWh, which is putting it in mid-range for efficiency side. Samsung and Panasonic both having higher ISEER of 4.50, but Blue Star is balancing this by its superior sensor-based optimisation. As per your requirement, you can simply use the different convertible modes accordingly.
The anti-corrosive blue fins are protecting the condenser and evaporator coils from corrosion which is caused by harsh climate, rainwater, salty air and humidity in coastal area. These blue fins are improving the efficiency and also extending the life of the AC, similar like Carrier’s blue coating and Samsung’s Triple Protection Plus technology.
Blue Star is providing Wi-Fi connectivity through one in-built module, so user can operate the AC remotely from smartphone app. You can also control the AC by voice command through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Carrier is giving little more advanced Wi-Fi experience with geo-fencing facility, but Blue Star’s smart feature is enough for most of the normal users.
This appliance is coming with 5 year warranty on the product and 10 year warranty on inverter compressor. Blue Star is one well-established Indian brand and having very wide service network across the country, so after-sales support is easily reachable. Regarding pricing, it is competitively placed around ₹49,989, which is matching with Carrier and offering much more features compared to Voltas close to ₹46,800.

02. Samsung 2 Ton 3 Star Inverter Split AC (AR50H24D1XHNNA)
When we compare with all other air conditioners which we discussed here, the Samsung Bespoke AI is most costly one close to ₹52K, which is little crossing our ₹50,000 budget limit. But still, it is giving best overall performance because the BESPOKE AI technology is learning your usage habits and then it delivers upto 30% extra energy saving, which means most efficient cooling environment inside your home.
Samsung Bespoke AI is having sleek design with indoor unit size of 105.5 x 29.9 x 21.5 cm, so size wise it is similar like Blue Star and Carrier models. But Samsung model is different because of its digital inverter compressor and the most silent indoor running at 26 dB. Same time, this machine outdoor unit is heavier, around 31.1 Kg, when we compare with Godrej which is only 28 Kg, so installation becomes little tough. User should make sure the outdoor unit mounting bracket is strong enough for handling this weight.
This machine is different from Blue Star and Carrier models because it gives full smart home connection through Wi-Fi, voice control by Alexa, Google Assistant, Bixby, and also the SmartThings app. Blue Star is also supporting voice command through Alexa and Google Assistant, but Samsung is providing more smooth connected experience. You can control the AC from anywhere by using your smartphone, which Godrej and Voltas models are not able to give.
The 5-step convertible cooling is very useful because you can change the cooling capacity as per room occupancy and weather situation. Panasonic is offering 8-in-1 convertible mode with more detailed control, but Samsung is balancing this with its AI based automatic optimization. Also, the 4-way swing is making sure even air distribution in full room, so no hot spots will come near corners.
Samsung is giving strong cooling capacity of 6300W at 100% and 3150W at 50%, which is enough for large size rooms between 200 to 240 sq ft. Panasonic is having higher cooling capacity at 6700W, but Samsung is reaching same ISEER rating of 4.50 W/W with lower yearly energy use of 1084.6 kWh. My advise to users is to use the AI Energy Mode for daily running, because it is reducing the electricity bill very much in long run.
The copper condenser coil with anti-bacterial filter is giving better heat transfer and need very less maintenance. The Durafin Ultra and Triple Protection Plus technology is protecting the condenser from rusting which happens due to humidity, pollution, and salty coastal air. Carrier model is also offering one similar blue coating for anti-corrosion, but Samsung triple-layer protection is more complete.
Samsung is providing 5 years full warranty on the product and 10 years warranty on the digital inverter compressor. Godrej is also matching this 5 years comprehensive warranty, but in much lower price. The R32 refrigerant is eco-friendly with zero ozone depletion potential, and this point is same for all models we discussed here.
The main negative point of this machine is the price, which is little crossing the ₹50,000 budget. But during festive sales on Amazon and Flipkart, this model many times comes down below ₹50,000. It is giving very good value for your money, so it deserves to be called the best 2 ton 3 star AC in India.

03. Carrier 2 Ton 3 Star AC (ESTER EDGE Gxi WiFi-CAI24EE3R36W0)
Carrier Ester Edge is similar to the above Panasonic Wi-Fi AC in the case of smart connectivity. Nonetheless, the Carrier has Flexicool 6-in-1 Convertible technology, and Panasonic has a 7-in-1 Convertible with True AI. Both appliances can be controlled remotely via smartphone apps, as you can adjust cooling modes, set timers, and monitor performance using Wi-Fi and voice commands.
The carrier flexicool is also a good performer but not the most energy efficient among the LG and Godrej models as it has an ISEER value of 4.00. Nevertheless, the fact that the Carrier features an ISEER of 3.90 is also important to be remembered by the users and is comparable with the price segment. And, therefore, in case you need a Wi-Fi-capable AC, with powerful cooling and tonnage adjustable according to your preferences, your search is over with the Carrier Ester Edge.
A limitation with the Carrier is that it lacks a self diagnostics feature. The Blue Star and the Voltas models, on the contrary, have the ability to automatically identify malfunctions and present error codes to be easily able to troubleshoot.
The Carrier operates on an inverter compressor that runs on a powerful motor and includes Flexicool technology to provide six different cooling modes. A 6-in-1 tonnage customisation will enable the user to add or remove cooling capacity and will save up to 50% in energy use. It is however suggested in rooms to a maximum area of 200 sq.ft to perform maximally.
Carrier has a variety of helpful features, such as Insta Cool with quick coldness when going into a hot room, Dual Filtration with HD and PM 2.5 filters, and Hydro blue coating that would prevent the corrosion of condenser fins by humidity and salt. The Hidden Display adds a touch of elegance and it fits with the interior of the room perfectly.
The Carrier has a range of stabiliser-free operation 135 V to 280 V, less than 120 V to 290 V of the LG. The Follow Me Function also enables the sensor on the remote to sense the temperature in your surroundings, and cool you down. This AC has an air throw of up to 15 metres, matching the LG model for effective room coverage.
The Aqua Clear Protection keeps the amounts of water and moisture in the indoor unit at bay, which will help to eliminate the possibility of fungal growth and unpleasant smell. The indoor noise level ranges from 39 dB on low speed to 46 dB on high speed which is quite loud as compared to the LG and the Blue Star models.
Performance-wise, the Carrier is competitive and matches its contemporary models. The LG is less noisy and more cost effective yet, it is also more costly. Its closest technological rivals in terms of smart functions and cost are the Panasonic and Carrier. The primary advantage of the Carrier over the Blue Star is its Wi-Fi connectivity and voice control capability.

04. Panasonic 2 Ton 3 Star Inverter Split AC (CS/CU-EU24CKY3F)
Panasonic is providing 1-year comprehensive warranty, 10-year compressor warranty, 5-year PCB warranty, and 5-year ODU casing warranty also. The 5-year PCB and ODU casing warranty is one unique offering which other models are not giving, and this is reflecting the confidence of Panasonic on its own build quality. So this machine is ideal for those users who is giving priority to raw cooling performance and Japanese reliability rather than smart features.
Normally the standard type air conditioners are giving only 4 to 6 convertible cooling modes. Panasonic understood this limitation and they bring the Converti8 super convertible technology, which is one advanced system having eight stages of cooling performance. By this you can adjust the cooling capacity according to how many persons sitting in room, changing weather outside, and daily energy requirement, so the operation become flexible and at same time power consumption remain balanced.
This machine is making with Japanese engineering precision, but the total weight 45 Kg making it heaviest one among all models discussed here. But still, it is one of the best performing machine with highest cooling capacity 6700W at 100% load, which is much more than Carrier giving 6000W and Samsung giving 6300W. The EcoTough structural design is making sure the outdoor unit can bear humidity, heat, and continuous running for long long periods without issue.
The Panasonic is having PM 0.1 filter, which is most advanced air filtration system in this comparison. This ultra-fine filter catching particles as small as 0.1 microns only, including dust, pollen, and other airborne impurities also. The Godrej is offering anti-viral nano coated filter, and Carrier is providing HD and PM 2.5 filters, but both are not matching the 0.1-micron filtration capability of Panasonic.
Shield Blu+ protective coating is protecting the vital heat exchange components from corrosion which happen due to moisture, pollutants, and salt-laden air specially in coastal area. It help to maintain the performance efficiency consistent across all seasons. Samsung is offering Durafin Ultra and Triple Protection Plus, and Blue Star is giving anti-corrosive blue fins. All three are serving same purpose only, but the Shield Blu+ coating of Panasonic is well-known for its durability in coastal environment areas.
This machine working on inverter compressor with highest ISEER rating 4.50 W/W, which is matching with Samsung also. However, the annual energy consumption 1153.74 kWh is highest among all models here, mainly because of the higher cooling output it is giving. Samsung is consuming only 1084.6 kWh annually, so it become more efficient for similar room sizes. My advice to users is, please use the 8-in-1 convertible modes properly to optimize the energy consumption as per actual cooling need.
Panasonic is giving Powerful mode for instant cooling boost, which increase the cooling output immediately when fast temperature reduction is required. This feature is very much useful when you coming back home during peak summer afternoon time. The 4-way swing function is directing the airflow in horizontal and vertical both directions for wider coverage, so cool air reaching every corner of the room properly.
The Auto Clean Dust Buster technology is minimizing dust accumulation and internal moisture in outdoor unit, which is similar like Sharp’s outdoor self-clean feature. It is supporting cleaner internal components and smoother operation in long term running. But, the absence of Wi-Fi or smart connectivity is one notable drawback when we compare with Samsung, Blue Star, and Carrier models. If smart home integration is matter for you, then Samsung or Carrier will be better-equipped options.

05. Sharp 2 Ton 3 Star Hi-Tech Inverter Split AC
Most of the air conditioner are facing problem when outside temperature crossing 50°C, the compressor start tripping or cooling become very weak. Sharp company is understanding this issue and they made the Hi-Tech Inverter which can give proper cooling till 55°C ambient also, which is the highest one in all the models we are discussing here. The Samsung and Carrier they are rated for 52°C and the Godrej is also same at 52°C only. So if you are staying in those areas of India where summer is going above 50°C regularly, then this model will give you most reliable performance no doubt.
This machine is having 7-in-1 convertible cooling system, the modes are starting from Eco mode (only 50% capacity running) and going up to Party mode (110% capacity, more than rated). The Panasonic is giving little more options with 8-in-1 system and Carrier is going till 120% maximum output which is higher. But the seven modes of Sharp is covering a practical range only, which is suitable for most of the Indian family usage. Each mode is made for one particular scenario, like energy saving when one person sitting, or full power cooling when guests are coming for party.
The main highlight of this Sharp AC is the Japan Quality 7 Shields protection system. These seven layer is including Fire Shield, UV Shield, and other shields for corrosion, dust and environment damage protection. The Samsung is giving Triple Protection Plus and Blue Star is providing anti-corrosive blue fin, but both are not matching this seven-layer approach fully. I am recommending this model specially for those homes in coastal areas (like Mumbai, Chennai, Goa side), because the salty air in those places is making the condenser coil corroded very fast.
Sharp’s outdoor unit self-clean technology is one nice feature, it is automatically reversing the fan after switching off the AC, so the dust get blown out from the outdoor unit by itself. Panasonic is also giving similar thing called Auto Clean Dust Buster and Carrier is providing indoor unit defrost cleaning. But Sharp’s one is fully automatic, user is not required to do anything, which is increasing the outdoor unit life with almost zero maintenance from our side.
This machine is delivering 18-metre long airflow, which is the longest throw distance compared to all other models in this discussion. So the cool air is reaching the far corners of big rooms also without any issue. The indoor unit size is 101 x 31.6 x 22 cm, which is making it the most compact indoor unit also, very useful when wall space is less in the room.
One important point to consider in this Sharp model is the rated capacity, which is showing only 1.77 tons under the new 2026 BEE norms, not full 2 tons like written on box earlier. Means the actual cooling output is little bit less than other 2-ton models we are comparing. But still the cooling capacity at 100% is 6200W, which is competitive only, it is higher than Carrier (6000W) and almost matching with Godrej (6100W) closely.
The ISEER rating is 4.35 W/W and annual power consumption is 1096.71 kWh per year, so it is coming in the efficient mid-range category, not top but also not bad. The Samsung and Panasonic both are achieving higher ISEER of 4.50, but Sharp is compensating this thing with its better build quality and less maintenance need in long run.
Sharp is giving 1-year comprehensive warranty on the full product and 10-year standard warranty on the compressor, plus one-time gas recharge also free in case compressor replacement is happening. Other things like Gold Fin+ coating, EZ Clean Filter and Nano Tech Ultra coating on indoor unit are also giving practical maintenance benefit. This machine is best suited for those users who are giving more importance to durability and build quality, instead of smart features and brand popularity in market.

06. Voltas 243V Vectra Elite 2 Ton 3 Star Inverter Split AC
Although the LG and Panasonic are feature-rich, the Voltas 243V Vectra Elite is a compact and inexpensive ACs that will suit homes with tight budgets. The LG and Panasonic models have developed smart features by implementing AI. Voltas Vectra Elite on the other hand is punctuated on providing reliable entry level cooling with a necessary feature at the lowest available cost. It however compensates the diminutive features with its superior capacity to manoeuvre due to its 4-in-1 adjustable cooling capabilities that allow you to use the AC at various tonnages 20 percent up to 120 percent capacity.
The major limitation of this model is that it lacks Wi-Fi connectivity and does not integrate with smart homes. Thus, this AC cannot be controlled remotely with a smartphone app or voice recognition. Nevertheless, it exhibits dependable cooling efficiency of 6000W and thus takes you as far as 200 sq.ft of being able to cool rooms. Carrier Ester Edge or Panasonic Premium Wi-Fi models are the other similar models that come with Wi-Fi and other smart features.
The 4-in-1 Adjustable mode is also a handy option in the sense that you can manually adjust the cooling capacity using the remote control. Another good feature is the Anti Dust filter of the Anti-Microbial coating, which is really appropriate in this budget of ACs. This AC has a normal dust filter as compared to the PM 0.1 filter of the Panasonic.
Inverter compressor is strong because it can adjust the power to the heat load to ensure efficient working. So you can cool your room comfortably without worrying about excessive electricity bills. Although it is perfect in cooling big rooms, one cannot expect it to cool the room as good as the 6350W Blue Star capacity. LG and the 6300W models of the Hitachi are the better versions to handle extreme heat.
Voltas provides such attributes to this AC as Anti-Corrosive Coating, LED Display, Self Diagnosis, Sleep Mode, Turbo mode, Remote Lock, Low Gas Diagnosis, Auto Restart, as well as Anti Fungal protection. And, you are to select an appropriate cooling mode based on the size of your room and the number of people staying in it.
This machine is stable in a 230 V with no stabiliser, as opposed to the LG of 120 V to 290 V and Panasonic of 145 V to 286 V. In high voltage variations areas, the LG model has a broader operating range and is thus a more suitable AC in areas where power is unstable.
The levels of noise range from 38 dB on the lowest setting to 47 dB on the highest. Cleaning the filters is easy because the anti-dust mesh can be removed and washed conveniently. The lowest cooling capacity is 6000W which is lower than the rest in this range and that is why I recommend this model to be used in well-insulin rooms to perform optimally and not to perform poorly ventilated rooms.
The Voltas Vectra Elite is the cheapest in terms of price. And the Voltas 243 V Vectra Elite will give complete value of your money to buyers who are more cost-conscious, and more focused on essential cooling needs, rather than smart functions.

07. Godrej 2 Ton 3 Star Inverter Split AC (AC 2T EC HIC 24J3TS WA)
Budget-friendly air conditioners often compromise on intelligent features to keep costs low. Godrej challenges this notion by offering AI-powered I-Sense technology around ₹41K, making it the most affordable AC with AI capabilities among the models discussed here. The Samsung offers more comprehensive AI with BESPOKE technology, but at a price that is over ₹11,000 higher.
The plus point of the Godrej AI-Powered AC is its I-Sense technology, which senses the ambient temperature and adapts cooling automatically. It provides personalized comfort with minimal effort, similar to the Blue Star’s AI Pro. However, the Blue Star uses seven sensors for optimization, whereas the Godrej’s I-Sense relies on fewer data points. Despite this, the Godrej delivers effective adaptive cooling for the price.
The anti-viral nano coated filter is a significant advantage in the post-pandemic era. This advanced filtration system combines anti-dust, active carbon, and anti-viral nano filters to improve indoor air quality by removing dust, allergens, and pollutants. The Panasonic’s PM 0.1 filter captures finer particles, but the Godrej’s anti-viral capability is unique among the models discussed here. Besides, the active carbon filter helps eliminate odours effectively.
This machine features a 5-in-1 convertible cooling system with capacity ranging from 40% to 110%. The Samsung and Blue Star offer similar 5-step and 5-in-1 modes respectively, but the Carrier at 6-in-1 and Sharp at 7-in-1 provide more granularity. However, the Godrej’s five modes cover the essential cooling requirements for most Indian homes adequately.
Godrej offers a cooling capacity of 6100W at 100% with an ISEER rating of 4.39 W/W, which positions it ahead of the Carrier at 4.35 and the Sharp at 4.35. The annual energy consumption of 1076.57 kWh is the second-lowest after the Carrier at 1068.29 kWh, making it one of the most energy-efficient options at this price point. The Samsung achieves a higher ISEER of 4.50, but the cost difference does not justify the marginal efficiency gain for budget-conscious buyers.
The 5-year comprehensive warranty on the product is the best warranty offering among the models discussed here. The Samsung, Blue Star, and Panasonic also offer 5-year warranties, but the Godrej’s comprehensive coverage at this affordable price point makes it exceptionally attractive. The 10-year compressor warranty provides additional peace of mind for the long term.
The self-clean and self-diagnosis features prevent moisture buildup and detect issues early, ensuring hassle-free maintenance. The anti-freeze thermostat protects the compressor by preventing ice formation on evaporator coils, which is a thoughtful engineering addition absent in the Voltas model.
The indoor noise level of 40 dB is reasonable and quieter than the Blue Star at 47 dB and the Voltas at 45 dB. However, the Samsung at 26 dB and the Panasonic at 36 dB offer significantly quieter operation. I recommend the Godrej for bedrooms in mid-range budgets where a good balance of intelligent features, air quality, and warranty coverage is essential.
Pricing-wise around ₹40,490, it is the most affordable among the models discussed here, matching the Voltas close to ₹40,800. However, the Godrej offers substantially better features, a higher ISEER rating, and a more comprehensive warranty, making it the better value proposition in the budget segment.

What Do we test about the Air Conditioners?
We have also thoroughly tested these air conditioners in cooling performance, energy consumption, noise levels to be used, and convenience in various room section sizes. We tested their performance in rooms with areas of 150 sq.ft to 200 sq.ft depending on the ambient temperature including the highest summer temperatures of over 38 °C.
Their convertible cooling settings, Wi-Fi capacities, quality of air filtration, and the range of voltages with stabilisers disabled were also tried by us. We used a decibel metre to measure the closeness of the noise produced by the indoor as well as outdoor units.
Moreover, our team members tested these models in home and in client office over a period of one week to familiarise themselves with actual performance at different times.
The difference with our reviews is the fact that we keep a and exhaustively test each air conditioner prior to posting our reviews.
Each of our models is being tested by our professional staff at least 1 Week taking into account cooling efficiency, energy use, compressor efficiency, construction materials, intelligent features and noise, after-sales services and maintenance.
Best 2 Ton 3 Star AC in India – Buying Guide
This purchasing guide will simplify your work since we will discuss each critical aspect and both the advantages and disadvantages also. When you are purchasing a 2 Ton 3 star AC in India, there are a few factors to consider depending on your room size, budget and cooling needs.
Let us look at them in brief.
- Inverter vs Non-Inverter Compressor
- Copper vs Aluminium Condenser Coil
- Convertible Cooling Modes
- Wi-Fi and Smart Connectivity
- Air Filtration and Purification
- Stabilizer-Free Operation Range
Non-Inverter vs Inverter Compressor.
All of the ACs reviewed in this article will have inverter compressors that also determine the speed depending on the cooling need. Inverter ACs do not have to activate the compressor on and off in a cycle as compared to non-inverter ACs, and this choice has resulted in a constant temperature, which consumes less energy. They are less noisy, more robust, and also provide a considerable saving on electricity expenses in the long-run.
Copper vs Aluminium Condenser Coil
Each of the seven models employs the 100% copper condenser coils. The copper is better in terms of heat exchange, durability and easily maintained as opposed to the aluminium coils. Repairs of copper coils are done on the spot, and aluminium coils are mostly replaced altogether. In the Indian weather where the moisture level is high and the air is corrosive, the use of copper condensers with anti-corrosive coating is preferable.
Convertible Cooling Modes
On convertible the technology, you can change the cooling level of the AC depending on the occupancy of the room and the needs. The Panasonic has the most at 8-in-1 mode then Sharp with 7 in 1 and Carrier with 6-in-1 modes. Voltas has least with 4-in-1 modes. An increase in modes gives more flexibility in comfort and energy conservation.
Wi-Fi and Smart Connectivity
To have the ability to be controlled remotely using smartphone apps, be able to use voice commands with Alexa or Google Home and have them connect to smart home platforms, seek models with built-in Wi-Fi. The Panasonic, Carrier and LG have Wi-Fi and voice control features. This is missing in the Voltas, Godrej, Blue Star, and the Hitachi models.
Filtering and Purification of air.
The effectiveness of purifying the indoor air by the AC is dependent on the quality of air filters. The Panasonic PM 0.1 filter is the best of their type as it is able to filter out ultra-fine particles hence it would be best in any house prone to allergies. To eliminate bad smells and toxic fumes, the Activated Carbon Filter of the Blue Star is used. The Anti-Virus Protection by Samsung is the protection against bacteria and viruses.
Maximum Operating Temperature, no stabiliser.
The broader stabiliser-free voltage range prevents the AC to operate safely without a separate stabiliser in regions where there is a variation in voltage. The LG provides the greatest variety at 120 V-290 V, then Panasonic at 145 V-286 V. The Carrier is used in 135V -280 V, whereas the Voltas is limited to 230 V.
Energy Efficiency -ISEER Value.
The rate of efficiency of the AC in terms of using electricity is denoted by Indian Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (ISEER). The higher the value of the ISEER, the smaller the running costs. The greatest ISEER is 4.50 which is shared by the Samsung and Panasonic, whereas the lowest is 3.81 which belongs to the Voltas. To save the desired amount of money on budget-conscious buyers, a higher ISEER can save massive money in the lifetime of the AC.
Noise Levels
The levels of noise are significant, particularly the bedrooms. The Samsung and Panasonic make the least at 36 dB of indoor noise with the Carrier coming in last at 39 dB of noise. In order to have a comfortable sleep, you have to select models with sound levels indoor not exceeding 35 dB.
After Sales Service and Warranty.
Enquire about warranty cover and service network of the brand at your location. Godrej and Voltas are providing 5-year complete warranties and that is most generous in this list. Each model has a 10 year compressor warranty. Good after sales service network guarantees prompt repairing and availability of spare parts.
Frequently Asked Questions
The size should be between 150 and 200 sq.ft. a 2 filter AC can be used in these large rooms. Suggested AC requirement of 1.5 filter AC in small rooms (smaller than 150 sq.ft) would be more energy efficient. Cooling need is also determined depending on such factors as the ceiling height, the sun exposure, the number of windows, insulation, and how many people are present. In case your room gets direct sunlight over extended periods of time, a 2 Ton AC results in the additional cooling overhead to ensure a comfortable room temperature.
The star rating shows the energy efficiency of the AC as discussed by Bureau of Energy efficiency (BEE). A 3 star AC is an optimal performance and consumption of energy. Although a 5 star AC will use less electricity, it will be very expensive to buy. A 3 Star AC is a good compromise between initial price and operating costs in the long run to most Indian families. Thus, it is a matter of frequency of use and budget.
ISEER value is very important as it indicates how the AC will perform in terms of cool efficiency in different temperatures during the cooling season. The higher the ISEER value, the lower the amount of electricity used by the AC to produce its cooling output. Indicatively, the Samsung and Panasonic models with an ISEER of 4.50 use a lot of less energy as compared to the Voltas with ISEER of 3.89. The value of the ISEER can be a significant factor in the difference in the electricity bills after a duration of five to ten years.
The convertible cooling enables one to change the tonnage capacity of AC with the number of people in the room and the amount of heat required. For example, the 6-in-1 mode of the LG is with the capability of enabling the 2 Ton AC to run at 40 per cent of capacity when a few people are in this room, thus saving energy. This quality is practical especially at night when there is a reduction in cooling needs. When energy saving and flexible cooling is a priority to you, it is worth having convertible cooling.
